午後は、昨日の AES でとってきた publications を読んでいました。

Electronic Musician の Personal Studio Buyer's Guide という雑誌を見ていると、"Mix It in the Box" という Bobby Owsinski の article がありました。どこかで見た名前だなと思いましたが、music technology の class で使っている textbook の著者でした。

Computer で mixing するときの advice についてですが、今後のクラスの内容にも役立ちそうなので、まとめておきます。

Rules for Gain Staging

• Keep all channel faders below the subgroup or master feder.
  
• When using large amounts of EQ or a plug-in with gain, lower the channel fader rather than bringing up the others around it.
  
• Leave lots of headroom. You can raise the level later.
